Additional tools
and standards are being developed to fill in some of the problems
and gaps which limit process
automation. These include:
- Process
digitization– for turning a process
model into a standardized
format that computers can understand, analyze, and execute.
- Web Services – a
collection of technologies for developing IT applications that are based
on open standards and are easier to maintain, integrate
and manage. Web services enable applications to be implemented as a set
of integrated parts which work together to provide a complete
solution
- Process Portals - an enterprise tool that guides users through
business
processes in an efficient manner as well as combining access to all the
information and tools they need to perform their work.
All of these technology advances have come together to enable the creation
of full featured BPM platforms.
