The process designer is responsible for optimizing the design of processes from the organization’s perspective.

A process designer must:

  • understand the goals and objectives of an organization and the process to be designed
  • understand and integrate the needs of the various stakeholders in a business process
  • be trained in the diagramming methods used to visually represent processes in an organization
  • be a strong communicator, to ensure that various constituents understand the process design and that he or she listens to and understands their input, as well
  • be or work closely with a subject matter expert related to the process at hand

 

 

A process designer works closely with business analysts in order to help drive the implementation of new business processes.
