Organizational data is all of the information which an organization uses to represent it's structure and record its performance. There are many different categories of organizational data all of which are used as inputs to affect strategy and process. A few of the more notable categories are:

  • organizational structure data
  • customer relationship data
  • financial data
  • external relationship data
  • industry specific data
Organizational structure data such as working relationships within and between business units provides valuable insight into potential synergies, redundant operations, and organization's fluidity (flat or deep hierarchy).

Customer relationship data identifies attributes such as customer satisfaction, customer acquisition rates, and customer loyalty to name a few.

Financial data provides the means to objectively measure cost and effectiveness of different marketing campaigns through product revenue.

External relationship data can help determine the effectiveness of partners and help in making decisions about the future of partnerships.

Most other data tends to be related more to an industry (manufacturing, travel, financial services, etc.) and is closely tied to the execution of key business processes.
