An organization is the administrative structure of a business,
government, educational, military or non-profit entity. This
administrative structure is intended to provide clarity of purpose
and efficient/effective use of resources. Multiple administrative
layers or sub-structures may exist. For example, corporations
may be organized into multiple Strategic Business Units (SBU),
which are groupings of multiple departments or functions for
the purpose of achieving key business imperatives

Each level of administrative
structure should instill their respective stakeholders with:
- Responsibility
and shared interest in performance
- Accountability for the results
and consequences
- Authority to marshal resources to ensure that
desired performance is
obtained
