| A business analyst
takes a process design and process
documentation and translates the information into the basic
components required to develop a successful, supporting information
technology system. This translation is often done through a standard
form of documentation called UML.
Business analysts interact heavily with line of business staff,
on one hand, and with technical systems developers and process
designers on the other hand. They work with a process designer
and other subject matter experts to understand the business process.
They then develop specifications for the information technology
teams and work with them on the implementation and verification
of new systems.
